Party on!

I came across this blog, One Charming Party, while searching for ideas for Josie's 3rd birthday party. She has chosen My Little Pony. I thought, okay, this will be easy. Should be popular right now, I know Strawberry Shortcake is, they've had MLP's at McD's Happy Meals, they have a show on the HUB channel. Boy, was I wrong! I can't find anything!!! I'm hoping, I've got it all coming together cause this Sunday is her party. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Anyway, this post was suppose to be on this idea from One Charming Party! Check it out!!! I'm thinking of the possibilities and how fun it would be to set this up in our creek!

There’s gold in these hills! Introduce your kids to the old time fun of panning for gold. Make faux gold nuggets by painting aquarium gravel with gold metallic spray paint. If you’re doing this activity at home you can fill a kiddie pool with sand, water and gold nuggets and let the kids sift through with old pie tins. If you’re traveling to the lake, just sprinkle some gold nuggets on the shore. Make your own bags to give each child to hold their gold nuggets. Print out this “gold rush” image onto inkjet iron-on transfer paper and iron it onto a muslin bag. After everyone has had a chance to strike it rich, let them trade their gold for goods at the trading post. Happy prospecting.

Jones' Waterpark ~ Bloomington, Indiana ~ Dreams Do Come True Photography

I get Family Fun magazine by subscription. Anyone with littles in the house, this magazine is awesome. It always has such great ideas and crafts in it. This month's issue, I took to heart. I even went online got the directions and tole Mike that if he didn't go with me, I would go get the stuff myself.
Introducing Jones' Waterpark:

These are the censored photos. As soon as we hooked it up to make sure it would work, off came Josie's clothes and the girl was running in the buff. She was so excited and had so much fun.
So we had to call the grandparents and the neighbor girls. She talked all of them into going through it.

She even got Daddy to go in it with her.

Mommy went through it to, but like always, I'm the one behind the camera.

She even married Papa Mike and Mama Mike.

Now how did a 2 year old look at this and think of it as a wedding?! The only wedding she's been to recently that had anything remotely like this was Amy's in Virginia in April. This child amazes me!
Now some behind the scene shots of Mikey building it and Josie helping.

Father's Day ~ Bloomington, Indiana ~ Dreams Do Come True Photography

Back to playing catch up again. I just got finished editing a family photo session that basically took me two weeks to edit. I needed to spend all my free computer time taking care of those photos and therefore mine fell to the bottom of the stack.
I've got another family session that needs editing, but I hope she will forgive me, if I take a little break here today and get my photos caught up. Then it's straight to hers!
Anyway, for Father's Day, Josie, Nathan Garrett and I went to Kohl's to get Nathan some swimming trunks. Josie saw this shirt for Daddy and had to get it for him. She was so proud of herself. She even picked out the card all by herself and it is Snoopy.
I love this age, she understands what is going on now and gets into everything. She kept telling him Happy Birthday since my birthday was the week before. We kept telling her it was Happy Father's Day, but she didn't care, all she knew was Daddy got presents, so it was "happy" something.

Payne Family~ Family Photo Session~ Bloomington, Indiana ~ Dreams Do Come True Photography

I had the pleasure of meeting up with some neighbors of mine to take a photo of their entire family, minus two husbands. They were a great joy to work with. Their choosing of colors for their outfits were awesome! I loved editing the photos and just seeing the colors POP!
I think photos like these are the greatest thing ever and a memory to behold. I keep saying that we are going to do our entire family but I also keep finding excuses. You know the ones, I need to lose weight, need my hair to grow out, what if there are more children that will come, and simply the hassle of getting everyone to cooperate. But, JOIN ME, put aside those excuses and make that appointment. Get everyone together and just enjoy. You never know what tomorrow will hold.
Note to self: Find someone to trip the shutter for me and get clothes bought for everyone! :-)

Hope you all enjoy! Here's a few favorites of mine from the shoot.
